Sending Faxes

Automatic Transmission

Place the original face up in the Automatic
Document Feeder, or face down on the
scanner glass.

Enter the fax number using One Touch,
Speed Dial, Search or the dial pad.

Press Fax Start.
Sending a Cover Page

Place the original face up in the Automatic
Document Feeder, or face down on the
scanner glass.

Press Menu, 2, 2, 7.

When NEXT FAX ONLY
appears, press Set.

Press or to select ON (or OFF), and
then press Set.

Press or to select a comment, and
then press Set.

Enter two digits to indicate the number of
pages being sent, and then press Set.

Press 1 to select additional settings
—OR—Press 2 if you are ready to fax.

Enter the fax number.

Press Fax Start.
Real Time Transmission
You can send faxes in real time.

Place the original face up in the Automatic
Document Feeder, or face down on the
scanner glass.

Press Menu, 2, 2, 5.

Press or to select ON (or OFF), and
then press Set—OR—For the next
transmission only, press
NEXT FAX ONLY, and then press Set.

For the next fax only, press
select ON (or OFF), and then press Set.

Press 1 to select additional settings
—OR—Press 2 to fax.

Enter the fax number.

Press Fax Start.

Receiving Faxes

Select Receive Mode
There are four Receive modes:
FAX ONLY, FAX/TEL, TAD: ANSWER
MACH., and MANUAL. Press Receive
Mode until the LCD shows your selection.
After two seconds the LCD returns to the Data
and Time prompt and shows the new Receive
mode.
(You need to have an External Telephone to
select FAX/TEL or MANUAL mode, and an
External Answering machine, to select TAD:
