2. Check:
• pull rod bearing
Damage/wear → Replace.

CHECKING THE PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR

1. Check:
• primary driven gear
Damage/wear → Replace the primary drive
gear and clutch housing as a set.
Excessive
Replace the primary drive gear and clutch
housing as a set.

INSTALLING THE CLUTCH

1. Install:
• clutch boss
• lock washer
• clutch boss nut 1
NOTE:
Lubricate the crankshaft end threads with
engine oil.
2. Tighten:
• clutch boss nut
NOTE:
_
While holding the clutch boss 2 with the uni-
versal clutch holder 3, tighten the clutch boss
nut.

3. Bend the lock washer tab along a flat side of
the nut.
