Equation Operating System (EOSé)
Order of

1-22 Operating the TI-82 STATS
The Equation Operating System (EOSé) defines the order in
which functions in expressions are entered and evaluated on the
TI-82 STATS. EOS lets you enter numbers and functions in a
simple, straightforward sequence.
EOS evaluates the functions in an expression in this order:
1
Single-argument functions that precede the argument,
such as
‡(
2
Functions that are entered after the argument, such as
2
,
,
,
,
M1
!
¡
3
Powers and roots, such as
4
Permutations (
5
Multiplication, implied multiplication, and division
6
Addition and subtraction
7
Relational functions, such as
8
Logic operator
9
Logic operators
Within a priority level, EOS evaluates functions from left to
right.
Calculations within parentheses are evaluated first.
Multiargument functions, such as
as they are encountered.

log(
