Configuring the Cluster Node Network Adapter

Important:
Use crossover cables for the network card adapters that
access the cluster nodes. If you do not use the crossover
cables properly, the system does not detect the network
card adapter that accesses the cluster nodes. If the
network card adapter is not detected, you cannot configure
the network adapters during the Cluster Service
installation. However, if you install Cluster Service on both
nodes, and both nodes are powered on, you can add the
adapter as a cluster resource and configure it properly for
the cluster node network in the Cluster Administrator
application.
Note:
The wiring determines which network adapter is private and
which is public. For this chapter, the first network adapter
(Local Area Connection) is connected to the public network;
the second network adapter (Local Area Connection 2) is
connected to the private cluster network. This might not be
the case in your network.
