Specifying a Downloaded POI as a
Destination
A POI that you find on Google Maps using your
computer or the ClarionMiND browser can be
used as a destination. First, search for the POI
and use the Google Maps transfer function to
send it to the Clarion portal site. Then tapping
the Portal Sync key will store the POI you sent
to the Clarion portal site into the navigation
Downloaded POI database automatically. For
details about the Portal Sync key, see Using the
Portal Site (P. 118).
NOTE
• In order to use a downloaded POI, you must
register as a user and register your unit at the
Clarion portal site.
For details about registering on the Clarion
portal site, see Registering on the Clarion
Portal Site (P. 39).
• You can store up to 1,000 POIs in the
Downloaded POI database.
• Go to "Member Service Guide" on the Clarion
portal site (http://my.clarion.com) for how to
use the Google Maps transfer function.

On the main menu, tap the [Downloaded
POIs] key.
This displays the Downloaded POI list.
NOTE
Tapping the [Sort by Date] (Sort by Name) key
toggles the list between name and date sorting.

Select a destination by tapping it in the
Downloaded POI list.
This displays the destination detail screen.
NOTE
You can store a downloaded POI in the
Contacts application by tapping the [Save to
Contacts] key.

(P. 58).

Using Google Maps to Search for a
Destination
You can use the procedure below to enter a
keyword on the unit and search for a destination
on Google Maps.
When you find the destination, you will be able
to view detailed Google Maps information about
it.
NOTE
A network connection is required in order to
use this feature.
Connect to the network using the information
under Connecting to a Network (P. 29) before
performing the procedure below.

On the main menu, tap the [Google] key.
This displays the search method screen.
