Rectifying minor problems
Problem
The video recorder does not
show the time or draw in the
cassette.

time on the video recorder.
You can not record television
programs
(you can only see static on the
screen).
Recording not possible.
A TIMER recording did not take
place.
The quality of the playback
image is poor.
The remote control is not wor-
king.

Cause
The mains plug has been pulled
or there is a faulty contact.
The video recorder has not
been set with the current time.
Antenna cable is not connected.
The video recorder has not
been tuned to the station you
want to record from.
The station is currently not trans-
mitting or the antenna is defecti-
ve.
The cassette is erase protected
(the tab has been broken off).
The ShowView number or the
date was not correct.
The VPS/PDC time was incor-
rectly entered for recordings
programmed with VPS/PDC.

Timer
on« was not pressed
after an interruption in stand-by
mode.
The video recorder and televi-
sion have not been tuned to
each other.
The tracking position is badly
adjusted.
The video heads are worn.
The batteries in the remote con-
trol are flat.
You are not pointing the remote
control at the video recorder.
Remedy
Plug in the mains cable or use
another socket.
Set the time and date.
Connect the antenna cable.
Tune the channel.
Check whether the channel is
transmitting by selecting it on
the television or asking your
neighbours.
Stick adhesive tape over the
opening on the back of the
cassette.
Tune the video recorder and
the television (see Page 16).
During playback, adjust the

picture with »
« or »–« to
obtain the best possible
image.
Consult your specialist dealer.
Replace the batteries.
Point the remote control at the
video recorder.
