17. JOG WHEEL: The touch-
sensitive jog wheel is the main
multi-functional instrument which
controls many functions of the CD
players. Refer to the OPERATION
section for more details.
Basically, the JOG WHEEL has
four functions:
---- THE JOG WHEEL will act as a
frame search control when CD play-
er is in the PAUSE or CUE mode, al-
lowing you to set a CUE point with
frame by frame precision.
---- THE JOG WHEEL also works
as a pitch bend during playback.
Turning the wheel clockwise will in-
crease pitch up to 100%, and turn-
ing the wheel in the counterclock-
wise direction will decrease pitch
down to -100%. The pitch bend is
based on how long you turn the jog
wheel continuously.
---- THE JOG WHEEL also con-
trols the BOP function. While in
a SCRATCH CUE mode, you can
jump to CUE (IN) point by simply
touching the WHEEL. When you
touch, release and touch again JOG
WHEEL fast, you simulate BOP ef-
fect.
Alternatively, while in a RELOOP
mode, you can adjust OUT point
of a loop by pressing RELOOP for
two seconds and turning a WHEEL
– you will see length of the loop on
RUNNING LANE. If you make a
loop very short, you get BOP / stut-
ter effect.
----
THE JOG WHEEL is also your
scratch platter when SCRATCH
button is activated. In SCRATCH
CUE mode you can also use the
WHEEL to jump to CUE point for
scratching by simply touching top of
the WHEEL.
