5 Cabling and powering the enclosure

Cabling the enclosure

After all system hardware is installed, cable the components. See the HP ProLiant BladeSystem
c-Class Site Planning Guide on the Documentation CD or the HP website (http://www.hp.com) for
additional cabling and site planning requirements.
WARNING!

connections to the power bus bars or power bus box.

CAUTION:
Do not drape cables from one rack side to the other.
Do not run cables over a hard corner or edge.

The HP c7000 Carrier-Grade enclosure is suitable for connection to intrabuilding or
non-exposed wiring or cabling only. Unshielded, twisted-pair (UTP) cables may be used for both
NEBS™ and non-NEBS installations.
NOTE:
The BR input terminals are considered to be DC-I.

Cabling the DC input module

WARNING!

Site input power, connected to rails A and B, provides power to the DC input module.

In configurations that use breaker panels, site input power is powered to the breaker
panel.
Each DC power rail is supplied through three pairs of 4 AWG (21.14mm2) wires. Each pair of
wires includes the return and -48VDC power. Lugs for these connections are provided in the power
terminal set.
