Before You Call For Service

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Time too long between
button selection
Some of the sounds you
will hear are normal
• Timer advancing as cycle progresses.
• Detergent cup opening.
• Water draining out of the tub immediately
after you touch a button.
Utensils are not secure
in the rack or something
small has dropped into
the rack
Dishes are blocking the
detergent cups
Drain is clogged
Correct detergent
wasn't used
Too much rinse
agent used
Inlet water temperature
is below 120°F.
Water pressure is
temporarily low
Air gap is clogged
Improper rack loading

WHAT TO DO
•Each button must be touched within
15 seconds after touching another control.
•Make sure everything is secured in
dishwasher.
•Reposition the dishes.
•If you have an air gap, clean it.
•Check to see if your kitchen sink is draining
well. If not, you may need a plumber.
•If the dishwasher drains into a disposer,
run disposer clear.
•Use only automatic dishwasher detergents
to avoid sudsing.
•To remove suds from the tub, open the
dishwasher and let suds evaporate. Add
1 gallon of cold water to the tub. Close the
door until it locks into place. On models
ZBD5700 and ZBD5900, pump out water
by pressing the NORMAL WASH button.
Wait one minute and press NORMAL
WASH again, then press CLEAR. Repeat if
necessary. On model ZBD5600, turn the
Cycle Selection dial to NORMAL WASH.
Wait one minute. Allow water to pump out.
Repeat if necessary.

•Raise the water heater temperature to 120°F.
•Depending on model, use BOOST or
WATER TEMP option.
•Turn on a faucet. Is water coming out more
slowly than usual? If so, wait until pressure is
using your dishwasher.
•Clean the air gap.
•Make sure large dishware does not block
the detergent dispenser or the wash arm.
