Clean the scanner glass (top and bottom) regularly to ensure the
best image quality. Before you clean the glass, make sure the
scanner is turned off and unplugged.

Make sure that nothing covers the scanner lamps. It is important
to keep the calibration area clean since dust or smudge marks on
the glass will reduce the quality of scanned transparencies.
If you ever have to transport the transparency adapter over a signifi-
cant distance, be sure to relock the optical assembly:

Turn off the scanner.

Turn on the scanner.

When the scanner's Ready, Power and Option (UTA/ADF)
indicators to light up, turn the scanner's power off.
The optical assembly should now be in the home position.
