Cut the corner with scissors, as illustrated.
Serge the first side, making one stitch beyond the cut
edge of the fabric,

Raise the needle and presser foot.
Then gently pull the thread chain off the stitch prong
and pivot the fabric.

i, Sew the second side with needle positioned to start
just below the previous row of stitching.
