SET WASH / RINSE
TEMPERATURE
CONTROL
Your washer lets you select a wash and
rinse temperature setting based on the
type of load you are washing, Automatic
Temperature Control (ATC) is used in the
ULTRA CLEAN and 2ND RINSE cycles.
To select a HOT wash temperature:
1. Set the PREWASH / SOAK TEMPER-
ATURE Control to HOT.
2, Push in the Cycle Selector Control
and turn it clockwise to PREWASH.
3. Pull out the Cycle Selector Control
and allow your washer to fill.
4. When your washer has filled, push in
the Cycle Selector Control and turn to
the desired ULTRA CLEAN setting.
5. Pull out the Cycle Selector Control.

Automatic Temperature Control (ATC)
takes away the worry of undissolved
detergent and ensures consistent
cleaning results from season to
season.
ATC electronically
senses and maintains
uniform water temperature by regulating
incoming hot and cold water.

In wash water temperatures
colder than
70°F (21°C), detergents de not dissolve
well,
• Select a wash water temperature
of
75°F (24°C) for items that bleed,
handwashables,
or lightly soiled items,
• Select a wash water temperature of
100°F (38°C) for cleaning whites and
bright colors or moderately to heavily
soiled items.
SPEEDS DESCRIPTIONS
This section illustrates and describes
the wash/spin speeds you can select
with the SPEEDS Control. Each speed
setting is designed for different types
of fabrics and soil levels.

HAND WASHABLES
Use this speed setting for hand washable
and special-care
items, Setting combines
brief periods of slow speed agitation and
soaking for gentle soil removal. Slow spin
speeds reduce wrinkling. Do net use
HAND WASHABLES for large items like
blankets.
NOTE: Some "Hand Wash" items,
particularly wool, naturally shrink when
washed, Keep this in mind when you
purchase items labeled "Hand Wash."
Items that shrink should be dried flat.
When still wet, block these items by
gently stretching to original measure-
ments.
PERMANENT
PRESS / DELICATE
Use this speed setting for washable knit
and permanent press fabrics. Setting
combines slow speed agitation for gentle
soil removal and slow spin speeds to
reduce wrinkling.
REGULAR
Use this speed setting for normally soiled
cottons and linens. Setting combines slow
speed agitation and fast spin speeds to
shorten drying time.
HEAVY DUTY
Use this speed setting for sturdy or
heavily soiled loads, Setting combines fast
speed agitation and fast spin speeds.
HANG DRY
Use this speed setting for sturdy
permanent press fabrics that will be
line dried. Setting combines fast speed
agitation and slow spin speeds to reduce
wrinkling.
