Drobo connects directly to one computer at a time via the provided USB
2.0 or FireWire 800 cable. However, you may have a need to share your
Drobo across your network. Using Drobo with DroboShare, computers
will show Drobo in their list of network devices, which allows for
centralized storage or easy file sharing between computers.
First, connect the provided Ethernet cable between DroboShare and
your network router or switch. Then attach the provided short (~1 ft.)
USB 2.0 cable to your Drobo and DroboShare. Next, insert the two ends
of the Y-cable into Drobo and DroboShare. Finally, plug Drobo's power
supply into the single end of the Y-cable.
Note: Drobo S cannot be connected to a DroboShare.
1. Once the Drobo and DroboShare
have finished starting up, Drobo
Dashboard will automatically
discover it and show the message to
the right. Click "Yes."
