V- Cleaning and Maintenance

CAUTION
All cleaning andmaintenanceshould only be
done when grill is cool andwith the fuel supply
turnedoff at the LP cylinder. DoNot clean any
barbecuepart in a self-cleaningoven. The
extremeheatwill damagethe finish.
Correctcare and maintenance willkeep yourgrill
operatingsmoothly, Cleaninternalparts of grill
regularlyas determinedby the amountof use and
the type of foods cooked. NOTE: Clean the
entire grill eachyear andtighten all hardwareon
a regular basis(1 - 2 times a yearor more
dependingon usage). Cleaningshouldbe done
wheredetergentswon't harmpatio, lawnor the
like.
Suggested Cleaning Materials:

• Paperclip
• Nyloncleaningpad
, Soft brassbristledbrush
• Puttyknife
• Scraper
ComponentCleaning:
• Burner: Wire brushloosecorrosionfrom burner
exterior. Cleancloggedgas port holes withan
openedpaperclip. Replacecorrodedor
damagedburnersthatwould emit excessgas.
• AluminumCastings: Clean castingexteriorwith
mild liquiddishwashingdetergentand hot water.
Aluminumis resistantto rust but extreme
temperaturesandweatheringmay cause
oxidationto form white spots. Torefinish
castings,dean the exteriorandlightly sandwith
mediumemerypaperor fine sand paper. Clean
off residuewith vinegarwater and rinsewith clean
water. Once dry,paintwith a high temperature
paint. After painthas thoroughlydried, bake it on
by operatinggrillfor 15 minuteson mediumheat.
• StainlessSteel: Cleanwithany multi-purpose
(lowabrasive,no phosphorous) m etalpolishor
stainlesssteelpolishanda softcloth to prevent
marringor scratchingof the surface. Neveruse
oven cleaners!

• Cookinggrids: Cleancookinggridswithmild
soapand hotwater. Removestubbornresidue
with a mild cleanseror scrub brush, Usea brass
bristleon porcelaincoatedgrids. DoNot use a
commercialovencleaner.
• HeatTent: Wipeoff greaseresidueusing a
cleaningpad anda brassbristlebrush to knockoff
residue. Replaceheattentto their correct
position.

Usecarewhenmoving a portablegasgrill.
Movingthe grill:
• To movethe grill, lift end of grill oppositethe
wheels. (Fig. 30)
. Movegrill slowlyby pushingforward. Do Not
runwith or pullthe grill behindyou; it could hit
you from behindcausinginjury. (Fig. 30)
. DoNot movethe grillwhileit is lit or hot,or
with objectson the cooking surface(s)or side
table(s).
After movingthe gdlh
• Check all gas connectionsfor leaksthatcould
occur fromthe movement.
• Checkthe venturi tubesto be sure they are still
over the orifices.
Stepsto follow beforestoring grill:
• Clean the grill,
• Coat the burnerlightlywith cookingoil to
retard rusting.
. For outdoor use only, if grill is stored
indoors,detachand leave the cylinder
outdoors.If left outdoors,turn off the fuel
supply to the LP cylinderandcoverthe
grill for protectionfrom the weather,
