Tire Pressure (Pneumatic Tires)
Under anycircumstance d o notexceed manufacturer's r ecommended p si.Equal
tire pressure s houldbemaintainedatall times.Excessive pressure whenseating
beads maycause tire/rim assembly t o burstwith forcesufficientto cause serious
injury.Referto sidewall o ftire forrecommended p ressure.
AddingFuel
Use extremecarewhenhandlinggasoline. G asoline isextremely flammableand
the vapors areexplosive. N ever f uel the machine indoorsor whiletheengineis
hot or running.Extinguish cigarettes, c igars, p ipesandothersources of ignition.
Alwayskeephands andfeetclearof equipmentmovingparts.Donot usea
pressurized startingfluid.Vapors areflammable.

Clean aroundfuelfill beforeremoving capto fuel.

Afuel levelindicatoris located inthe fuel tank.Filltank untilfuel reaches t he
fuel levelindictor,Figure 9. Becareful n ot to overfill.

Thetirescanbeover-inflated forshippingpurposes. Check t he tire pressure
before operatingthe snowthrower. Refer t o the tire sidewall for manufactures's
recommended p sianddeflate(orinflate) t he tires asnecessary.
NOTE: E qual t ire pressure isto be maintained atall timesfor performance p urposes.
FuelRecommendations
Use automotive gasoline (unleaded o r low leaded to minimizecombustion c hamber
deposits) w ith aminimumof87octane. G asoline w ith upto 10% ethanol o r 15%MTBE
(Methyl T ertiary ButylEther) c anbeused. N ever u se anoil/gasoline mixtureor dirty
gasoline. A void gettingdirt,dust,orwaterinthefueltank.DO NOT useE85 gasoline.
Refuel i nawell-ventilated areawiththe enginestopped. D onot smoke or
allowflamesor sparksinthe areawherethe engineis refueled or where
gasoline isstored.
Donot overfill the fueltank.Afterrefueling,makesurethe tankcapisclosed
properly andsecurely.
Becareful n ot to spillfuel whenrefueling.Spilled fuel or fuelvapormay
ignite.If anyfuel isspilled,makesurethe areais dry before startingthe
engine.
Avoidrepeated or prolonged contact w ith skinor breathing ofvapor.

Checking Oil Level
Theengineisshippedwith oil inthe engine.Youmust,however, c heck the oil
levelpriorto operatingthe snowthrower.Running the enginewith insufficient
oil cancause serious enginedamage andvoidthe enginewarranty.
Some engines will havea quarter-turn oil fill/dipstickcap,othersmayhavea
threadedoil fill/dipstickcap.Followthe instructions nextthatapplyto yourengine
model.
