ToEngageWheel Drive
1. With thethrottle controlinthe Fast ( rabbit)_j_ position, m ovespeed
selectorleverinto oneof the sixforward(F)positionsor two reverse (R)
positions. S elect a speed appropriate forthe snowconditions anda pace
you'recomfortable with.
flOTE:Whenselecting a DriveSpeed, usethe slowerspeeds until youare
comfortable andfamiliarwith the operationofthe snowthrower.
2. Squeeze t he drivecontrolagainst t he handleandthe snowthrowerwill
move.Release i t anddrivemotionwi[[ stop.
NOTE: NEVER r eposition the speed selector l ever(change speeds or direction
oftravel)without first releasing the drivecontrol a ndbringingthe snow
throwerto acompletestop.Doingsowi[[ resultin premature wearto the
snowthrower'sdrivesystem.
ToEngageAuger
1. Toengage the augerandstart throwingsnow,squeeze t he augercontrol
against t he left handle.Release to stopthe augers.
Replacing ShearPins
Theaugersaresecured tothe spiralshaftwith shearpinsandbow-tiecotterpins.
Ifthe augershouldstrikeaforeignobjector kejam, the snowthrowerisdesigned
sothatthe pinsmayshear.Ifthe augers will notturn, check to seeif the pinshave
sheared.SeeFigure 17.

NEVER replacethe augershearpinswith anything other than OEM Part No.
738-04155replacementshearpins. Anydamageto the augergearboxor
other componentsasa result of failing to do sowill NOT be coveredbyyour
snowthrower's warranty.
Always t urnoffthesnow thrower's e ngine and remove t hekey prior toreplacing
shear p ins.
