1.  Swap the diskette with a known working diskette.
 
If the problem is resolved, the diskette is faulty.
2.  Enter the System Setup program, and verify that the system is configured correctly (see "Using the System Setup Program" in your User's Guide).
3.  Run the diskette drive tests in the system diagnostics to determine whether the diskette drive operates properly (see

If the tests fail, continue to step 4.
4.  Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
