Changing the route calculation method

Depending upon the time of the day and road conditions, you may want to alter the way the system
calculates a route.
1 Press the MENU button to display the
main menu bar. Select Route from the
menu and press ENTER. The Arrange
Route menu appears. Select Route
Options and press ENTER.

Highlight Route Options and press
ENTER.

Tilt the joystick up or down to select
from the four choices. Press ENTER to
select the setting. The method set here
will remain in memory as a default
setting until you change the setting.
A) When set to Quickest, the system
will calculate the most efficient way
to arrive at your destination.
B) The Max Fwy (Maximize
Freeways) option calculates a route
that makes most efficient use of
freeways.
C) When set to Min Fwy (Minimize
Freeways), the system will
calculate a route that uses mostly
surface streets.
D) The Min Toll (Minimize Toll
Roads) option calculates a route
that uses the least number of pay
roads enroute to the destination.
4 Press the MP/RG button. The system
returns to the Detailed Map display.
