If you choose to select the area by post code, street, or point of interest, the selection process is
identical to that for setting a destination by these methods. (See "Finding a Destination by
Specific Post Code" on page 62 for selection by post code, "Finding a Destination by Street/
City Search" on page 55 for selection by street, and "Setting a Route to a Specific Point of
Interest" on page 64 for selection by point of interest.)
If you choose to select the area by map, the last displayed map appears.
A map showing the area selected is shown. The red highlight indicates the area that will be
avoided.
• The
and
buttons increase and reduce the map scale, consequently enlarging or reducing
the shaded area. For example, pressing the
area represented by the shaded portion becomes smaller. The map scale cannot be increased
beyond 25 m (0.02 miles); further use of the
shrinking.
• The joystick scrolls the map, thereby moving the shaded area to the desired position.
The new area is named according to a marker at or near its centre (a street name or point of
interest) and displayed in the list of areas to be avoided.
• Up to nine areas can be registered.
