Cause
The measurement head has
reached the mechanical limit
during alignment.
Focusing cannot be performed
because the nozzle has reached
the measurement head stop
position and cannot go nearer to
the examinee's eye during auto-
matic alignment.
Movement of measurement
head has been interrupted.
The pupil is obscured by eye-
lashes.
The examinee's eye moved just
before the measurement.
Reflection of the examinee's eye
is low.
Effect of external light.
Measurement error has
occurred because the examinee
blinked or examinee's eye
moved.

8.2 Before Calling a Service Person
Remedy
Check the height of the chin
rest, ensure that the examinee's
face is properly positioned, and
press the START switch again.
Check the position of the chin
rest, ensure that the examinee's
face is properly positioned, and
press the START switch again.
Check that the examinee's face
is properly fixed, and set the
measurement head stop position
with LIMITER switch again.
Do not interrupt the movement
of the measurement head such
as by holding it. Press any
switch to reset the measurement
head.
Instruct the examinee to keep
his/her eye open wide, or help
them open the eye widely by lift-
ing up the upper eyelid lightly
with your fingers. Then, mea-
sure again.
Ask the examinee not to move
his/her eye and measure again.
Measure again.
Do not expose the examinee's
eye directly to bright artificial
light or sunlight.
Ask the examinee not to blink
and not to move his/her eye.
Then, press the START switch
again.
