Replacing the Lithium Batteries

Overview

There are two lithium batteries (Figure 166) on the CATP circuit card, with a life of
approximately 5 years. They protect stored commands and pages against power
loss. The batteries are not used when DC power is supplied to the CATP. You
should write down the replacement date on a sticker or label by adding 5 years to
the date of installation, and then attach it to the CATP for future reference.
Contact your AMX dealer before you replace the lithium batteries and verify that
they have a current copy of the pages stored in the touch panel. This will avoid any
inadvertent loss of data or a service outage. To replace the lithium batteries, you
will need a Phillips screwdriver and a non-conducting flat-blade tool to slip under
each battery to pry it out of the socket.

AXT-CV and AXT-CA

Remove the lithium batteries from the AXT-CV and AXT-CA:
1.
Discharge the static electricity from your body by touching a grounded object.
2.
Remove the AXlink connector from the rear side of the CATP.
3.
Flip the CATP face down onto a soft cloth, and remove the four Phillips-head
screws from the bottom panel. Then, gently remove the panel.
