Configuration Information & Control Options
Configuration Information
The configuration file is stored in the CPU and contains routing and control information for that
particular model. Each system is programmed at the factory according to the model specifications (for
model numbers and descriptions, see the "Applicability Notice" on page 7). Optima SD systems with
audio use three virtual matrices for switching signals: VM 0 = audio-follow-video, VM 1 = video, and
VM 2 = audio. Video only systems can switch signals on VM 0 or VM 1.
Important: Unless you need to modify the system, you will not need to use XNConnect.
A copy of the configuration file is provided on the AMX AutoPatch CD that is shipped with each system.
The configuration software, XNConnect, is provided on the CD and can be used to further customize the
configuration file (see "Appendix A – Managing Configuration Files" on page 53).
Configuration file modifications include basic tasks, such as creating local presets, customizing input
and output channel names for control display (e.g., in the APWeb or APControl interface), and setting
the control panel password.
