detects various hardware devices in the system. If you are prompted to load any device drivers,
load only the PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge and the Intel 82371AB PCI Bus Master IDE
Controller. Cancel the loading of any other drivers. These other drivers require files that are on
the Windows 95 CD-ROM, which cannot be accessed at this time.
Once Windows 95 has detected the system's primary and secondary IDE controllers, you should
no longer cancel the loading of any other drivers, and let Windows 95 search the CD-ROM for any
needed files.
Using the CD-ROM Drive in MS-DOS Mode
Intergraph Computer Systems has discovered a problem you may encounter if you try to install
Windows 95 on a TDZ 2000. If the system has a Panasonic CD-ROM drive, you cannot use the
CD-ROM drive by default when the system is in MS-DOS mode. This occurs because of the way
Windows 95 handles real-mode and protected-mode drivers as it starts.
This problem does not occur in a TDZ 2000 that has a Sony CDU611 CD-ROM drive. To identify
the installed CD-ROM drive, go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device Manager/
CD-ROM. Device Manager identifies the Panasonic CD-ROM drive as a Matshita CR-585
CD-ROM drive.
To enable MS-DOS mode access to the Panasonic CD-ROM drive:
1.
Edit the system's
DEVICE=C:\ATAPIMGR.SYS
DEVICE=C:\SR_ASPI.SYS /D:CDIDE001 /Q
2.
Edit the system's
MSCDEX.EXE /D:CDIDE001 /M:10
3.
Copy the following files from the
directory of the system drive (usually

4.
Restart the system to make the changes take effect.
Be sure to remove or comment out these changes if you no longer want to run the system in
MS-DOS mode.
Using a PC Card Adapter
Intergraph Computer Systems has discovered a problem you may encounter if you try to install
Windows 95 on a TDZ 2000. If you want to use a PC Card adapter on a system running Windows
95, the system restarts several times. During these restarts, Windows 95
