Rolled Hem

Machine Setting
Pattern: 01
Thread tension: 2-6
Presser foot: Rolled hem foot D
Foot pressure: 3
To sew:
Fold the edge of the fabric twice, 6 cm (2 3/8") in length
and 0.3 cm (1/8") in width.
Trim the corner 0.5 cm (3/16") by 0.8 cm (1/4") for easier
insertion of the hem into the foot.
1 Wrong Side of the Fabric
2 0.5 cm (3/16")
3 0.8 cm (1/4")
4 Curl of the Foot
Place the fabric aligning the edge of hem with the guide on
the foot.
Lower the foot and sew to 1-2 cm (1/2" to 1") while pulling
both thread to the back.
Stop the machine and lower the needle into the fabric.
Raise the foot and insert the folded portion of the fabric
into the curl of the foot.
Lower the foot, and then sew by lifting up the edge of the
fabric to keep it feeding smoothly and evenly.

Shell Tucking

Machine Setting
Pattern: 15
Thread tension: 6-8
Presser foot: Satin stitch foot F
Foot pressure: 3
Increase the needle thread tension to "6-8".
Fold and stitch on the bias.
Place the folded edge of the fabric along the slit of the foot
so that the right swing of the needle falls off the edge of
the fabric to form tucks.
