Slow down.

Cut tall grass at maximum cutting height
during first pass.
Cut grass with discharge pointing toward
previously cut area.
Run engine for several minutes to warm-
up.
Start the mower in a cleared area.
Tighten to 45-55 ft-lb (61-75 Nm).
Check and replace as necessary.
Remove, sharpen, and balanceblades. See
Tractorand Mower Maintenancein the
Maintenance section.
Reinstall correctly.
Repairor replace.
Replacewith correct belt.
Repairor replaceas needed.
Check belt stops.
Replacedrive belt.
Adjust PTOclutch.
