Section 8: Installing the Accessories

Installing the Firestones

The P42DF* is supplied with firestones. Remove the
Door as shown in the previous Instruction. Follow these
instructions to ensure all parts are removed or replaced
as required. Once the glass door is removed place the
firestones randomly across the pan and the burners as
described in Figure 24 to 24f.
Note: Only cover the burner with one layer of designer firestones.

Figure 24b. Installation of the firestones. (Ensure ONLY one
layer of firestones cover the surface).
Figure 24c. Spreading the firestones evenly and make sure
there are no firestones covering the pilot .

If the firestones are not placed properly (ONE LAYER ONLY),
on burners excessive sooting will result. The firestones will
get very hot while the fireplace is in operation, and should
not be handled until cool.
If the pilot cover is covered with firestones it may result in
delayed ignition and/or damage to the appliance and/or
surrounding property.
