Backs up the active database. The util_file device
type is used for backup. Tablespaces are in the
backup mode (locked) during the whole backup
session. You can back up the entire database or
only individual tablespaces or datafiles.

the backup mode only while being backed up.
Consequently, the increase in archived log files is
smaller compared to backup with the util_file device
type. However, if the database consists of a large
number of small files, this backup can take longer.
