Removing the Hard Drive
Replacing the Hard Drive

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal
surface (such as a connector on your computer).
Removing the Hard Drive

5. Remove the decorative cover (see
6. Remove the speaker cover (see
7. Remove the display bezel (see
8. Remove the back cover (see
9. Remove the aluminum foil tapes that secure the hard drive.
10. Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the chassis.
11. Disconnect the hard-drive cable from the connector on the hard drive.
12. Lift the hard drive out of the chassis.

2. Align the screws holes on the hard drive with the screw holes on the chassis. Replace the four screws that secure the hard drive.
