Skid Shoe
Thesnow throwerskid shoesare adjustedupwardat thefactory
for shippingpurposes.Adjust themdownward,if desired,priorto
operatingthe snowthrower.
It isnot recommended that youoperatethis snowthroweron gravel
as itcan easilypick up and throwloosegravel,causingpersonal
injury or damageto the snowthrowerand surroundingproperty.
Forclose snow removalon a smoothsurface,raiseskid shoes
higheron the auger housingto lowershaveplate.
Whenthearea to be clearedis uneven,suchas a graveldriveway,
lowerskid shoeson theauger housingto raisethe shaveplate.
NOTE: If you chooseto operatethe snowthroweron a gravelsurface,
keepthe skid shoesin lowestpositionfor maximumclearance
betweenthe groundand the shaveplate.
Operatinga snowthrowerequippedwith steel skid shoes may
resultin damageto naturalstone pavedsurfaces(e.g. sandstone,
bluestone,limestone). For informationon availablepolymerskid

To adjust the skid shoes:
1. Loosenthe fourhex nuts (two on each side)and carriagebolts.
Moveskid shoesto desiredposition.See Figure4.

Tire Pressure
The properinflationpressureis between 15psiand20psi.Checkthe tire
pressureperiodicallyand maintainequal pressurein bothtires at all
times. Excessivepressure(above20 psi)may causethe wheel(tire/
rim)assemblyto burst with sufficientforce to causeseriousinjury. Do
notover-inflate the tire. Use a manualpumpor portableelectrictire
inflatorto preventover-inflation. N EVERUSEANAIR COMPRESSOR.
Over-inflating the tirewith excessivepressure(above20 psi) may
causethe tire/rimto burstwith sufficientforce to causeseriousinjury.

2. Makecertain theentirebottomsurfaceof skid shoeisagainstthe
groundto avoidunevenwearon the skid shoes.
3. Retightennutsand bolts securely.

A pairof replacementaugershearpinsand bow
tie cotterpinsare includedwith yoursnowthrower.
Storethem ina safe placeuntilneeded.
