1. Finish the raw edge ot your hem any way you desire (see overcasting, page 72).
2, Measure, turn up your hem and pin.
NOTE: For light weight |abrics, you may need a double told.

Fold the material (bottom side out) on the edge to be stitched, as shown, ieaving 1/4"" of the finished hem edge showing.

Place garment under presser toot in such a manner that narrow zigzag stitches will be sewn on extended edge. The wide
zigzag stitch should just catch the fold of the garment.
After hemming, press both sides of the finished hem. The top side of the garment will show only the blind stitches.

1. Piquez le bord non fim selon ie go_t personnel (Voyez le point de surfilage a la page 72).
2. Mesurez, pliez I'ourlet par Ie dessus et dpmgtez.
REMARQUE: Un pli double est parfots requis pour les tzssus minces.
3. Son envers tournd vers Ie haul, pliez le tissu contre le bord &coudre, conune montrd, en vous assurant de laisser ddpasser de
1/4" du bord que volts avezfini prdcddenmlent.
4. Glissez le v_tement sous le pied-de-biche, de manidre que des points zigzag courts soient piques dans le bord qui ddpasse.
Les points zigzag plus longs doivent _tre piques au bord du plL
5. Une fois l' ourIet termind, repassez l"envers et t'etMroit de celui-ci. Seule ta trace des fils au sommet des points appara?t sur
l' endroit du v_tement.
