• Do not clean overfloor electricaloutlets.
• Do not use without tanks in place.
• Use extra carewhen cleaningon stairs. Donot placecarpet cleaneron stairs.
• Usecarpet cleaneronly for its intendeduse as describedin the instructions,
• Useonly attachmentsrecommendedby Hoover'; others may cause hazards.
• The useof an extensioncord is not recommended.If an extensioncordis absolutely
necessary,useat leasta 16 gauge3-wire cordwhich hasa 3-prong groundingtype
plug and a 3-pole receptaclethat acceptsthe machineplug.
• Unplug carpet cleaner from outlet when not in use. Turn off all controls before
unplugging.
• Unplugbeforeconnectingthe poweredhand tool (availableon select models).
• Alwaysdisconnectcord from electricaloutlet beforeservicingthe carpetcleaner.
° Donot unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, graspthe plug, notthe cord.
• Neverhandleplug or appliancewith wet hands.
• Do not pull or carryby cord, use cord as a handle,close door on cord or pull cord
around sharp edgesor comers. Do not run applianceover cord.Keep cord away
from heatedsurfaces.

• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquidssuch as gasolineor use in
areaswhere they may be present.
• Do not pick up chlorine bleach,drain cleaner,gasolineor any other toxic material
with this appliance.
