This will set the operation of [AF/AE LOCK] button when taking
3icture with fixed focus or exposure.
[OFF]:
[AF/AE LOCK HOLD]

The focus and the exposure are fixed only while you
are pressing [AF/AE LOCK]. (P86)
If you release [AF/AE LOCK], AF/AE Lock is canceled.
The focus and the exposure remain fixed even if you
release [AF/AE LOCK] after pressing it.
If you press [AF/AE LOCK] again, AF/AE Lock is
canceled.
Depending on the setting, camera will adjust the focus
automatically
before pressing the shutter button halfway.
[PRE AF]
[OFF]
[Q'AF]: Q uick AF
[C'AF]:Continuous AF
About [Q'AF] a nd [C'AF]
[Q"AF] will adjust the focus automatically
when the jitter of the camera gets small. [C'AF] w ill
adjust the focus at all times (continuous AF operation).
The camera will adjust the focus automatically, and the focus adjustment when the shutter
button is pressed becomes faster. It is effective when you do not want to miss the photo
opportunity.
• The battery
will be consumed
faster than usual.
• Press the shutter
button
halfway
again when
it is difficult
to focus on the subject.
• When
[PRE AF] is set to [OAF], it may take time to focus on the subject
if you rotate the zoom
ring from Wide
to Tele or suddenly
change
the subject from a distant
one to a nearby
one.
• The [PRE AF] feature
is disabled
in the following
conditions:
- In Preview
Mode
- In low light situations
-With
lenses
that only offer Manual
Focus.
-With
some
Four Third lenses
that do not support
contrast
AF.
• With some lenses
that do not support
the [AFC] in Focus Mode,
[C'AF] is disabled.

[FOCUS PRIORITY]
[ON]:
This gives priority to the best time to take a picture so
you can take a picture when the shutter button is
pressed fully.
You cannot take a picture until the subject is brought
into focus.
• It is recommended
that this feature
be left on, to minimize
the possibility
of pictures
with poor
focus.
• [FOCUS
PRIORITY]
is disabled
during
motion picture
recording.
