Approximate operating range
of remote control
USING THE STAND
Pull out the stand and lock it into position when you
put the VIEWCAM on a table or other flat surface.
For stability, make sure the VIEWCAM's camera part
stands vertically, as shown.
Cautions:
Protect the stand from strong forces. Otherwise it may
l
break.
When the stand is not in use,
l
fold it away to keep it from
breaking by pressing in the
direction of the arrow.
USING THE INFRARED
REMOTE CONTROL
Use the remote control to operate the VIEWCAM
en you want to
from a distance, for example w
record yourself in a scene, or w en the
connected to a TV for use as a VCR.
Set the Operate switch to CAMERA or VCR.
When CAMERA is selected
Press the MENU button to display MENU 2.
If MENU
is displayed, press the PAGE button
When VCR is selected
Press the MENU button to display the menu.
Make sure that the "REMOTE" menu item is set
to "ON".
Press the MENU button to turn off the menu.

operate the VIEWCAM.
Notes:
Be careful not to allow direct sunlight or bright light from
l
interior rllumination to fall onto the VIEWCAM's
photoreceptor, as this may prevent the remote control
from operating properly.
Be sure that there are no obstacles between the remote
l
control and the VIEWCAM's photoreceptor.
When the "REMOTE" setting is changed in either Camera
l
or VCR mode, the setting for the other mode is
automatically set the same.
The lithium battery normally lasts about 6 months. This
l
time can be shorter under some operating conditions.
When the lithium battery is dead and the remote control
does not operate, replace the battery with a new one by
following the instructions on page 10.
If "OFF" has been selected for "REMOTE" on the menu,
l
the VIEWCAM will not respond to remote control
commands. Select "ON" to make the VIEWCAM respond
to the remote control.
