Adjusting White
Balance
Available modes:
TAPE-CAMERA, CARD-CAMERA
The colour of the subject on the screen looks
different depending on lighting conditions.
Select a White Balance setting that matches
the lighting conditions.
AUTO: Colouring adjusted automatically for
the current lighting condition
LOCK: Fix the setting to the standard
balance (White Balance Lock)
INDOOR: For recording indoors with
halogen lamps or incandescent lighting
OUTDOOR: For recording outdoors on a
sunny day
RETURN: For maintaining the previous
setting

In TAPE-CAMERA or
CARD-CAMERA mode,
set the Manual Selection
switch to MANUAL to
display the MANUAL
screen.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select
"WHITE BAL.", then press the dial.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select a
white balance setting, then press the
dial.

• When selecting "LOCK", perform the
steps "Locking the White Balance".

Set the Manual Selection switch to
LOCK to lock the selected White
Balance setting.
• The camera recording screen appears.
Locking the White Balance

Select "LOCK" in step 3 above.

Aim the lens at a white object.
White paper or white cloth
• Adjust the distance of the object so that
the entire screen is white.

Press the CONTROL dial to set the
white balance lock.
• "LOCK" flashes during the locking
procedure.
Note:
• If you move the camcorder while "LOCK" is
flashing, "LOCK" may not stop flashing. If
this occurs, press the CONTROL dial to
cancel the procedure, and then repeat step
3.

Set the Manual Selection switch to
LOCK.
• The camera recording screen appears.
To cancel White Balance setting
After performing step 1 and 2 in "Selecting",
turn the CONTROL dial to select "AUTO", then
press the dial.
To return to Full Auto mode
Set the camcorder to Full Auto mode (see page
53).
Note:
• White Balance setting will cancel if a scene
setting is selected thereafter.
