Press the
button to start Carriage
Maintenance.
The print head moves to the left, and the
cleaning wiper moves forward. OPEN MAINT
COVERS is displayed on the LCD panel.

Open the maintenance cover on the right of
the printer.
Caution:
c
Do not put any tools on an opened
maintenance cover as the cover may fall
off.

Use the cleaning stick and the ink cleaner to
remove the ink and dust on the cleaning
wiper.
Caution:
c
❏ Do not touch the cleaning wiper and
head cap unit. Head cleaning may not
be performed correctly because of oil
from your hands.
❏ Do not immerse the stick in water.
Doing so may damage the print head.
❏ Do not leave a used cleaning stick on
the printer's cover to avoid stains.
❏ Do not reuse the cleaning stick. Dust
attached to the stick may damage the
print head.

Cleaning wiper front side:
Remove the ink and dust to right and left.
Cleaning wiper back side:
Remove the ink and dust upward.
H
Close the right maintenance cover firmly
until it is locked.
I
Press the
button to return to the READY
state.
The print head and cleaning wiper return to
their original positions.
