EPSON STYLUS
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

This maintenance needs to be done at certain intervals or if a problem is seen with the printout.
Ensure that the printer is installed on a level floor with conditions of 20-30°C and 40-60% humidity.
You will require a Maintenance Kit and/or an Ink Cleaner Kit and/or a set of Cleaning Cartridges

MAINTENANCE KIT

Consists of: 2 pairs Plastic gloves, 1 x Flushing Pad, 12 x Cleaning sticks

INK CLEANER KIT

Consists of: 6 pairs Plastic gloves, Ink Cleaner, Plastic cup

CLEANING CARTRIDGES

8 x T6230 Cleaning cartridges for Head Washing

CARRIAGE RAIL WIPER

1 x Plastic Carriage Rail wiper, 1 x Carriage Rail Oil

CLEANING WIPER

WHEN?
Once a month
Or if prints are blurred or smeared
HOW?
Menus/Maintenance/Carriage Maintenance
Printhead moves to LHS. Use cleaning stick dipped in Ink cleaner as per instructions
Front of wiper (Left hand side) - Clean along wiper length
Back of wiper (Right hand side) - Wipe upwards along wiper
Discard cleaning stick

CLEANING AROUND PRINTHEAD

WHEN?
Once a month
Dust or ink causing dropouts or ink droplets
HOW?
Menus/Maintenance/Carriage Maintenance
The printhead moves over the space on the LHS of the printer. Using a torch examine the
areas around the printheads. If inky or dusty, wipe the surrounds with a dry cleaning stick
DO NOT TOUCH THE PRINTHEAD SURFACE!

  • Page 2 HEAD CLEANS LEVELS Using the Cleaning button on the Control Panel Menus/Maintenance/Cleaning (Medium) Menus/Maintenance/Cleaning (Heavy) Menus/Maintenance/Head Washing Head Washing requires a set of cleaning cartridges and approximately 35 mins. NB Cleaning carts can only be used ONCE! Check that the Drain tank has been emptied before Head Washing Switch off printer after Head Washing completed Leave the printer off at this stage if you want to transport it.
