7. Grasp the riser card assembly 1 by its edges and carefully lift it straight up and off the chassis.

8. If there is any PCI Express card (such as an Ethernet card) installed on the riser card assembly 1,
note down the cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the card to completely remove
the riser card assembly 1 out of the chassis. Then, remove the PCI Express card from the riser card
assembly 1. See "Removing the Ethernet card" on page 78.
9. Touch the static-protective package that contains the new riser card assembly 1 to any unpainted
surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the new riser card assembly 1 out of the package.
