ensurethat the unit runsproperlynextseason.

,, Cleantheequipmentthoroughly.
,, Wipeequipmentwith an oiled rag to preventrust. Usea light oil or
siliconeto wipe.
,, Servicethe enginefollowinginstructionsbelow.
,, Storeunit in a clean,dry area.Do not store nextto corrosive
materialssuchas fertilizer.
Engine
IMPORTANT: I t is importantto preventgumdepositsfrom formingin
essentialfuelsystempartssuch as the carburetor,fuelfilter,fuel hose,
or tank duringstorage.Also, alcoholblendedfuels (calledgasoholor
usingethanolor methanol)can attractmoisturewhich leadsto separa-
tionand formationof acids duringstorage.Acidic gascan damagethe
fuelsystemof an enginewhile in storage.
NOTE:Fuelstabilizeris an acceptablealternativeto emptyingthe tank
of fuel in minimizingthe formationof fuel gumdepositsduringstorage.
,, Add stabilizerto gasolinein fuel tank (if FreshStart
TM
fuel preserver
cartridgeis empty)or storagecontainer.
,, Do not drainthe gas tank and carburetorif usingfuel stabilizer.
Inall cases,drain all the oil fromthe crankcase(thisshouldbe done
after the enginehas beenoperatedand is still warm)and refillthe
crankcasewith fresh oil.
Whenyou visuallyseethat thefuel preservercartridge isempty,
replacement c artridgesare availablethroughyour localSearsParts &
RepairCenterand mostSearsstores.
If you do not use FreshStart
TM
or otherfuelstabilizer,followthese
instructions:
,, Drainthe fuel fromthe tank by runningthe engineuntilthe fuel tank
is empty.
,, Removespark plug,pourapproximately 1/2 ounce(approximately
one tablespoon)of engineoil into cylinderand crankslowlyto
distributeoil.
,, Replacesparkplug.
Other
,, Do not storegasolinefromone seasonto another.
,, Replacethe gasolinecan if it starts to rust.Rustand/ordirt in the
gasolinewillcause problems.
,, Store unitin a clean, dry area.Do notstore next to corrosive
materials,such as fertilizer.
NOTE:If storingin an unventilatedor metalstorageshed,be certainto
rustproofthe equipmentby coatingwith a lightoil or silicone.
