2.18.2 Setting of the Upper Knife in the Direction of the Seam

When the upper knife, with the edge cutter turned on, is in its lower
dead center, the forward tip of the knife blade should be about 1 mm in
front of the needle.
Caution Risk of Injury!
Do not come in contact with the foot pedal or the keys for single
stitches with the machine turned on.

Turn the handwheel until the knife is in its lower dead center.

Loosen screws 1 so far that the fastening plate 2 still touches flat
on the cast body, but can be slid.
–
Slide the fastening plate so to the front or back that the forward tip
of the knife blade is about 1 mm in front of the needle.
–
Tighten the screws again.
