The HP ProLiant DL320 Generation 2 server has one memory device that requires a
battery for retaining stored information.
When your server no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, you
may need to replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. With
normal use, battery life is usually about 5 to 10 years. Replace used batteries with
HP 540-milliampere-hour lithium, 3 V replacement batteries (P/N 179322-001).

System Battery Replacement

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or equipment damage:
To install a new battery:
1. Access internal server components. Refer to "Accessing Internal Server
Components" in Chapter 3, "Installing Hardware Options."
2. If an expansion board is installed, remove the PCI riser board assembly. Refer to
"Removing the PCI Riser Board Assembly" in Chapter 3, "Installing Hardware
Options."

Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an
important safety feature.
Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily
accessible at all times.
Disconnect power from the server or other product by unplugging the
power cord from either the electrical outlet or the server or other product.
