    gENERAL The T190 thermostat is a low-voltage programmable thermostat designed to control most conventional and heat pump systems. It is configurable for up to two-stage heat and two-stage cool. The thermostat is 7-day programmable. Different heating and cooling setpoints and times are programmable for 4 time periods per day.

    bACk PANEL REFERENCE The three switches on the back panel have been positioned by your thermostat’s installer. Two of the switches configure the thermostat for the type of HVAC equipment being controlled, and the third switch specifies whether the thermostat is hardwired or using battery power. Changing the switch positions may cause your system or thermostat to not operate properly.

The thermostat’s system usage function counts the number of hours heating or cooling is on. FILTER USAgE – this icon lights up when filter usage has reached the interval time set by the user.

    NoRmAL moDE In these instructions, the term “Normal Mode” refers to the default thermostat display (i.e. when the user is not performing any operations).     TEmPERATURE DISPLAy Room Temperature Display: The thermostat displays room temperatures in the range of 50°F to 90°F (10°C to 32°C). Display is in 1°F (0.5°C) increments. The thermostat displays “LO” when room temperature is below 32°F (0°C). The thermostat displays “HI” when room temperature is above 99°F (40°C).

    SySTEm SwITCh oPERATIoN The SYSTEM switch has 2, 3, 4, or 5 positions, depending upon the T190 model you have. Slide the switch to the desired system mode. POSITION SYSTEM MODE DESCRIPTION Emergency Heat The thermostat operates as an Emergency Heating Only thermostat.

    FAN SwITCh oPERATIoN The FAN switch has two positions. Slide the switch to the desired fan mode. POSITION SYSTEM MODE DESCRIPTION Fan On The fan is on continuously, even if no demand for heating or cooling exists. AUTO Fan Auto The fan cycles with active demand for heating and cooling.

    Copy Feature If multiple days have an identical program, you need only to program one day and then copy that day’s program to other days. 1. In Normal Mode, press PROG once. One day icon and all four event icons will start flashing.

    oVERRIDINg ThE PRogRAm Your thermostat’s program may be overridden either temporarily or indefinitely. This feature overrides your programmed event settings, but does not lose them. Temporarily overriding the program In Normal Mode, pressing ▲ to increase, or ▼ to decrease, the current temperature setpoint will activate a temporary override.

    Permanently overriding the program In Normal Mode, pressing and holding PROG for 2 seconds will activate a permanent override. “PERMANENT OVERRIDE” will appear on the display and you can then perform the following: • If the System slide switch is set to “H”, “C”, or “E”: Pressing ▲ or ▼ adjusts only the applicable HEAT or COOL setpoint temperature.

    RESET bUTToN oPERATIoN The RESET button is an unlabeled, recessed button that can be pressed using the tip of a small paper clip. Your thermostat retains system mode, fan setting, setpoint, and program values in permanent memory. Pressing the RESET button only affects the clock, by resetting it to 12:00 (12-hour clock).
