The I/O Setup Dialog
The I/O Setup dialog defines Pro Tools input, output, insert, and bus paths. Routing I/O ports to
Pro Tools inputs and outputs can also be done here.

To open the I/O Setup dialog:
Make sure your audio interfaces are enabled

and configured properly in the Hardware Setup.
See "Configuring Pro Tools Hardware Settings"
on page 46.
Choose Setup > I/O.

To open the Input, Output, Insert, Bus, Mic
Preamps, or H/W Insert Delay page in the I/O
Setup dialog:

Closing the I/O Setup Dialog
You can click Cancel at any time to close the
I/O Setup dialog. When you click OK, Pro Tools
checks several settings for routing validity (to
prevent feedback loops). If there are any over-
lapping or invalid settings, you will be required
to correct them before the I/O Setup dialog will
close. For more information, see "Initializing
I/O Setup" on page 85.
