    Overview MyShortcut is an embedded Java application installed as a flash file on multifunction printers (MFPs) that support the Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF). This application allows you to create shortcuts on the printer home screen, with settings for up to 25 frequently used copy, fax, or e-mail jobs. Overview...

    If individual licenses are used, then you must install them locally on each printer. If you plan to use the application with several printers, then you may prefer to install the Lexmark License Server and obtain a network license for the appropriate number of devices.

    Collecting the Host ID Click or Start > All Programs or Programs > Lexmark > Lexmark License Server > License Administration Tools. Click the System Settings tab. Record the Host ID (MAC address). Contact your Lexmark representative, and provide the Host ID.
  • Page 8 Select License Server. Stop, and then restart the License Server service. Configuring the network license From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings or Configuration. Click Device Solutions > Solutions (eSF), or click Embedded Solutions. Click Network License. Enter the IP address or host name and optional port for the network license server where the license is stored. You can enter values for up to three separate servers.

    Configuring the application from the Remote Operator Panel The Remote Operator Panel is an embedded Java application that allows you to access the printer home screen from your computer. By default, the application is turned off and must be turned on before it can be used for the first time. Enabling the Remote Operator Panel Using the Embedded Web Server: Type the printer IP address or host name in the address field of your Web browser.

    To edit an existing shortcut: Click Edit/Delete. Select the shortcut you want to modify, and then click Edit. Note: The Edit/Delete icon is available only when at least one shortcut has been created. Enter a unique name for the shortcut, and then click Next. Select an icon to represent your shortcut on the printer home screen, and then click Next.

    Adjust the copy, fax, or e-mail settings as needed, and then touch Save It. Note: The Fax Cover Page feature is not available as a shortcut setting. Select whether to view settings before copying, faxing, or sending an e-mail: • If you select Yes, then you can adjust the copy, fax, or e-mail settings each time you use the shortcut.

    Appendix Checking which version of the Embedded Solutions Framework is installed on a printer Type the printer IP address or hostname in the address field of your Web browser. From the Embedded Web Server, click Reports > Device Settings. Scroll down until you see Embedded Solutions (usually found near the bottom). Under Embedded Solutions, the value next to Framework = signifies the installed version.
