    Overview Fax Forward is an embedded Java application that can be installed on Lexmark printers. It allows faxes received by a printer to be forwarded automatically to a predetermined network share folder or e‑mail address as specified by an administrator. This document is intended for use by Lexmark service providers and administrators responsible for the implementation and management of this software in their network environment.

    If individual licenses are used, then you must install them locally on each printer. If you plan to use the application with several printers, then you may prefer to install the Lexmark License Server and obtain a network license for the appropriate number of devices.

    Collecting the host ID Click or Start. Click All Programs or Programs, and then click Lexmark > Lexmark License Server > License Administration Tools. Click the System Settings tab. Record the host ID (MAC address). Contact your Lexmark representative, and provide the host ID.

Using a network license Copying the license file to the Lexmark License Server Note: Before installing a network license using either the Embedded Web Server or MarkVision Professional, copy the license files to the license server.

    Click License > Update License > Network > Update License. Using MarkVision Professional In MarkVision Professional, select the device where the application is installed. Click Settings > Embedded Solutions > Solutions Management. Under the appropriate application, click Update License. In the Update License window, select Use a network license server. Click Update License.

    For example: myserver (device name) 111.111.111.111 (IP address) Modify the Share Path field using the following format: \\Device_Name_or_IP\Share_Name. For example: \\myserver\share \\111.111.111.111\share Click Apply. Restart the printer. If you do not restart the printer after upgrading and modifying the Share Path field, then faxes may be lost. Configuring a Fax Forward destination Note: If you are upgrading from version 2.0.5 or earlier of the application to version 2.0.6 or later, then see “Upgrading from version 2.0.5 or earlier to version 2.0.6 or later”...

    Click Configure > Export. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to save the configuration file, and then enter a unique file name or use the default name. Note: If a JVM Out of Memory error occurs, then repeat the export until the configuration file is saved. Importing a configuration From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings or Configuration.

    Method two From the MarkVision Professional Home screen, select Embedded Solutions ‑ Solutions Management from the All Tasks list. Use the Quick Find or Folders tabs to select a device. Note: When a device managed by MVP is not supported by a specific task, its name will appear with a black line through it in the Quick Find or Folders tabs.

    Exporting and importing a configuration using MarkVision Professional Exporting configuration settings From the MarkVision Professional Home screen, select Embedded Solutions ‑ Solutions Management from the All Tasks list. Using the Quick Find or Folders tabs, select the device or devices where the application is installed. Use Ctrl + click and Shift + click to select multiple devices.

    Appendix Checking which version of the Embedded Solutions Framework is installed on a printer Type the printer IP address or hostname in the address field of your Web browser. From the Embedded Web Server, click Reports > Device Settings. Scroll down until you see Embedded Solutions (usually found near the bottom). Under Embedded Solutions, the value next to Framework = signifies the installed version.
