SECURE PRINT FUNCTION
You can set a password as a security lock for important documents that you
don't want others to read, such as job estimates, payroll ledgers, fi nancial
statements and personnel notices. Protected documents cannot be output
until the user enters the password at the control panel ensuring that they
are read and received only by the intended person.
BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION UNIT — AU-102* (Optional)
Instead of setting a password as a security lock for
those highly sensitive and confi dential documents
that you don't want others to read, you can use
an advanced Biometric Authentication unit that
recognizes unique physical characteristics of each
user. This Biometric Authentication Unit is more
reliable than fi ngerprints; it can actually read the veins
in a person's fi nger. Protected documents are not
output until the biometric unit recognizes the physical
characteristics of the authorized user. To make the Biometric Authentication Unit
even more appealing, a user could even use the "ID and Print" method of security.
This means a user can send a document to the C360/C280/C220 and release it, just
by touching the Biometric Authentication Unit.
The AU-102 Biometric Authentication offers a new design over its predecessor,
the AU-101. The AU-102 is built with a cover and backing that does not allow
the user's fi nger to go beyond the base of the unit. It is a compact design that
blends in nicely with the aesthetically pleasing bizhub device. The new shape
and design improves operability by:
Providing increased consistency in how the fi nger veins are scanned
Eliminating detection precision issues caused by external light
