Using the Webcam

The webcam is a UVC (USB video class) device. It works automatically with any webcam software
(such as YouCam or Skype).
A white activity LED is on when the webcam is active. Optimal performance of the fixed-focus lens is at
0.5 meters.
A dial at the top of the workstation lets you:
Adjust the camera angle.
Disable the camera by turning the dial all the way toward the front of the workstation. A red stripe
in the camera viewport indicates the lens is pointing straight down into the chassis. The user is not
visible.

Installing optional components

You can install additional components such as memory, hard drives, and PCIe Mini Cards in your
workstation.
To view component installation videos, go to http://www.hp.com/go/sml.
For installation guidelines and technical information, refer to the HP Z1 Workstation Maintenance
and Service Guide at http://www.hp.com/support/workstation_manuals.

Security

You can secure your workstation by attaching a lock to the cable lock slot.
The workstation includes several security features to reduce the risk of theft and to warn of chassis
intrusion. Refer to the Maintenance and Service Guide for information about additional hardware and
software security features available for your system.

Product recycling

HP encourages customers to recycle used electronic hardware, HP original print cartridges, and
