Trouble
The finished copies are too
dark.
The finished copies are dirty.
The finished copy image is
askew.
Paper is continually misfed.

Is the copier in the auto exposure mode?
Is the copier in the manual exposure mode?
Is the platen, the slit glass or the original
protector under the DF dirty?
Were the originals set correctly?
Is the paper set correctly in the drawers or
decks?
Is the paper curled, folded or wrinkled?
Is there misfed paper or loose scraps of
paper remaining inside the copier?
Procedure
To adjust the overall exposure level, perform
the "Auto exposure adjustment" procedure.
Use the copy exposure adjustment keys to
adjust the exposure as appropriate.
To adjust the overall exposure level, perform
the "Manual exposure adjustment"
procedure.
Clean the platen, the slit glass and the
original protector under the DF.
When setting an original on the platen, align
it properly with the appropriate original size
indicator lines.
When setting originals in the DF, align them
securely with the original insertion guides.
Set the paper correctly.
Replace it with new paper.
Carry out the appropriate procedure to
remove the paper.
