Using the Basic IP Settings Options

To configure the basic settings of your wireless access point, click the Basic Settings link in the
Setup section of the main menu of the browser interface. The Basic Settings menu will appear, as
shown below.

The Basic Settings menu options are discussed below. The default values are suitable for most
users and situations.
Access Point Name: This unique name is the access point NetBIOS name. The default Access
Point Name is located on the bottom label of the WG102. You may modify the default name
with a unique name up to 15 characters long. The default is netgearxxxxxx, where xxxxxxx
represents the last 6 digits of the WG102 MAC address.
IP Address: By default, the Access Point has DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
client set to Disable. The default IP address is 192.168.0.229.
You may enable the DHCP client to let the Access Point get its TCP/IP configuration from the
DHCP server on your network.
DHCP Client: The Access Point will get the IP address, subnet mask and the default
gateway settings automatically from the DHCP server if DHCP is enabled.
