Monitoring APS/MSP

You can use the show aps commands to monitor APS/MSP.
show aps
Total Section Counters

BIP-B1 (Code Violation)
Example 4 Shows all statistics for all sessions for the section layer on interface
2/0.
host1#show controllers sonet 2/0 section total
Number of valid intervals - 31

Use to display information about interfaces on which APS/MSP is configured.
Use the all keyword to display information from all APS/MSP groups. In the
output, partially configured controllers are displayed with none and include only
the group name.
Field descriptions
sonet x/y Location of the SONET/SDH interface
protect group Name of the APS group that contains the working interface
and the corresponding protect interface
channel Number of the APS channel; 0 identifies the protect interface, 1
identifies the working interface
~ Interface is not currently active
Selected Interface is active
~Selected Interface is not active
Bidirectional Router switches to the protect interface using the bidirectional
switching mechanism
