2) Loosen and remove the upper screw of the bar on the joint bar connection of the lower sec tion of the lamination dummy (see fig. 2, item 1). 3) Mount the shaping dummy to the upper hole of the joint bar connection of the lamination dummy with the screw (see fig. 4, item 3) (see fig. 12).
Page 21
5.1.5 Finishing the orthosis 1) After the laminate has cured, remove the laminated blank from the orthosis model. To do so, cut the lamination dummy free with a knife and remove it. 2) Remove the screws from the Plastaband. 3) Remove the two screws from the bar. 4) Loosen the slotted oval head screw and remove the lamination dummy.
Page 22
3) Set the base body of the orthotic joint onto the foot stirrup with the axial washers (see fig. 16). 4) Use the insertion aid for the joint nut from the lamination dummy set 17AD313=*, to facilitate installation of the joint nut (see fig. 17).
Page 23
10) Tighten the joint screw with a torque wrench (see fig. 19). 11) Check whether the foot component can be moved smoothly and without play. 12) Before handing the orthosis over to the user, clean the screw connection of the joint screw using a degreasing cleaner, secure it with Loctite 241 and tighten it to the corresponding tightening torque (see following table).
Page 24
5.3 Installing the modules INFORMATION Bilateral design of the orthosis Ensure that the forces (e.g. compression spring force) are evenly distributed for the patient-spe cific setting. INFORMATION Ottobock recommends checking the alignment of the orthosis using the 3D L.A.S.A.R. Posture and adapting it according to the patient’s needs. ►...
